Frankfurt English Choir

The Frankfurt English Choir

The Frankfurt English Choir is a newly founded choir based in Frankfurt, Germany. The Frankfurt English Choir rehearses, in English, on Wednesday evenings, and sings 4-voice arrangements of popular music. The focus of the group is to build a singing community for those who might view the German language as a barrier to joining a choir, or those who would like to meet other English speakers in the area. German locals who are interested in rehearsing in English are encouraged to participate!

Choir Leader

My name is Jared Ice, and I am the leader and founder of the Frankfurt English Choir. The choir is an extension of my successful Community Choir Project I founded in Darmstadt. I am a professional opera singer, and have been involved in many musical projects in the area for years.

Creating community-based groups has always been a goal of mine, and I saw an opportunity in Frankfurt to provide a choir for members of the community that might view the German language as a barrier to participating in a musical group. My priorities for the group are to build a musical community amongst its members, to create a cultural exchange, and to give back to the surrounding community through concerts and other charitable events. I also plan optional social-gatherings for the members of the choir to meet outside of rehearsals.

The group rehearses in English, and anyone over the age of 16, that is interested in singing with us, is invited to join. Since community-building is the goal of the group there are no auditions or minimum skill requirements to participate. Contact me to come and try the group!
